Saving the regional costume. New ideas from old.You can still see and admire them on Sundays and public holidays, at all kinds of festivals: the ladies of the Bregenzerwald in their amazingly elegant and delightful costumes. And now the traditional manufacture of these costumes has found a new home - in the “Juppen” workshop in Riefensberg.
Ancient techniques are used today to help preserve local cultural traditions.
Interested parties visiting the Riefensberg Juppen workshop can see this in practice. Using a special procedure the black dress, for example, is folded into up to 500 pleats. The house itself, over three stories high and formerly part of the Gasthof Krone with a new glass facade, is in also interesting from an architectural viewpoint.
