The attractive mountain village of Schoppernau in the inner Bregenzerwald is the workplace for those local mountain farmers, whose animals graze the valley, the woodland smallholdings and the high alpine pastures. This method of farming, with its associated lack of silo feeding, forms the basis for the production of our high-quality Bregenzerwald mountain cheese.

Follow the production process from the milk churn to the formation of mountain cheese, and learn some interesting facts about the local region and its inhabitants.

A visit to the cheese dairy is especially popular with bus tours, outings and similar group events. We would be delighted to arrange a special offer to include a guided tour and a tasting session featuring a cheese board or snack.

In our pinewood parlour you can taste a selection of different cheeses and watch an interesting film which offers a lot of fascinating information on farming in the area, and more specifically about our dairy’s cheese production methods.
