Historical architecture

The Dornbirn City Hall consists of three buildings. On the left, along the Bergmannstrasse, is the newest addition. In the middle, built along National Socialist administrative guidelines in the years 1939-40, is the "New City Hall". A tower, built in 1926, connects this part to the oldest section of the building complex, the "Old City Hall", constructed as a granary in 1795. In front of the entrance to the cemetery in back is a monument to Dr. Johann Georg Waibel, who was the first mayor of Dornbirn after it was granted municipal status in 1901.
