Islamic Cemetery
The Islamic Cemetery is devoted to Moslems who have their principal residence in Vorarlberg at the time of death. Along with 700 grave plots there are rooms for public viewing of the deceased, for ritual washing and for final farewells (transfer abroad).
The Islamic Cemetery was built in accordance with the beliefs and concepts of Islamic religion, which dictates that Moslems be buried in the direction of Mecca, where the Kaaba is located. According to religious tradition, the Kaaba, the black stone, is the place of encounter with Allah.
